Year 11 Prom - 16th July 2010

On Friday 16th July it was the glitz and glamour of the Year 11 Prom at the Holiday Inn in Wilmslow. A fantastic event led by Mr. Tomlinson and Miss. Tidbury, the students excelled themselves with their tuxedos and prom dresses. Their behaviour throughout the night was impeccable and they certainly made the school proud to have them as Year 11 students. The evening started with their arrival at 7.00pm, some students choosing rather obscure modes of transport, we had the usual Hummer Limousines, Bentleys and Audis but mixed in were fire engines and ice cream vans. After the meal and the speeches the party really started, the students hit the dancefloor at 9.00pm and didn’t come off until the event finished. All in all a fantastic and much enjoyed evening. Congratulations Year 11 and hopefully you will get the results you deserve.

Year 13 Prom - 2nd July 2010

'Time to party' as we say farewell to the Class of '93!  The annual Year 13 Prom was held at the Cottons Hotel on Friday 2nd July.  A fantastic time was had by all including students, tutors and staff.  The evening began with the students arriving in style, dressed to impress and ready to celebrate the completion of their A Level studies.  Students partied to the early hours enjoying a formal meal and disco. Good luck with your exam results in August everyone!

Talent Show Gallery

The Talent Show held on 15th April proved yet again to be a memorable evening of entertainment with a magnificent display of talented performers who had the audience laughing, cheering or clapping throughout the evening!  We had an amazing display of talent on show – from dancers, groups, singers, magic and comedy to our own star staff performers as well!

Sponsored Walk Gallery

Wellington School recently held its annual sponsored walk to raise funds for the Christie Hospital.  Despite the fact that it rained heavily all day, over 1300 students took part in the walk with the aim of raising over £20,000 to provide 15 Chemotherapy beds for the Hospital.

Last year the event raised £22,500 for the hospital and during the last 15 years Wellington students and their families have raised an impressive £181,700 for local and national charities.
